Help Your Child Master the Skills That Make Everything Else Possible

Executive function coaching that helps children with autism build planning, organization, and problem-solving skills.

Hi, I'm Arash

I became an executive function coach because I saw too many bright children struggling—not because they couldn't learn, but because no one had taught them how to organize their thoughts, manage their time, or break down tasks.

My background includes:

  • Specialized training in executive function coaching

  • Years of experience working with children with autism

  • Deep understanding of how executive function challenges impact daily life

  • Part of the InnerWorks multidisciplinary team

What drives my work:
Executive function skills are the foundation for everything—school success, independence, relationships, and confidence. When children learn these skills, everything else gets easier. My job is to teach these skills in a way that makes sense for their unique brain, using strategies they can actually use in real life.

I work as part of the InnerWorks team and coordinate with your child's OAP services. This means your child benefits from a collaborative approach—their EF coaching fits into their broader treatment plan, and we're all working toward the same goals.

Is Your Child, Teen or Young Adult Struggling With the "How" of Everyday Life?

Your child is smart and capable, but you've noticed:

  • They can't seem to get started on tasks, even ones they want to do

  • Simple routines fall apart without constant reminders and supervision

  • Homework takes hours because they don't know where to begin

  • They lose track of time, materials, and what they're supposed to be doing

  • Transitions are a battle—switching activities feels impossible

  • They have great ideas but can't organize their thoughts or follow through

You know they're not lazy or difficult—their brain just works differently. They need someone who understands executive function challenges and knows how to build these crucial skills step by step.

The good news? Our custom Executive Function Coaching program can help! We are already helping children, teens, and adults with their skills.

Build the Skills That Make Everything Else Easier

I'm Arash, and I specialize in executive function (EF) coaching.

Executive function skills are the "how" of getting things done, the mental processes that help us plan, organize, remember, start tasks, stay focused, and adapt when things change.

Through one-on-one coaching, we work together on:

  • Planning & Organization - Breaking big tasks into manageable steps

  • Time Management - Understanding time, estimating how long things take, using timers and schedules

  • Task Initiation - Getting started without getting stuck

  • Working Memory - Remembering instructions and keeping track of multiple steps

  • Flexible Thinking - Adapting when plans change

  • Emotional Regulation - Managing frustration when things get hard… and more!

What makes this different?
EF coaching isn't therapy, and it's not tutoring. We don't focus on emotions or academic content, we focus on the underlying skills that make school, home routines, and daily life actually work. I use hands-on activities, visual supports, and strategies that fit how your child's brain works.

And it's covered through OAP!

Getting Started Is Simple

Step 1: Book your first session
I'll explain how EF coaching works and answer your questions.

Step 2: Create a Personalized Plan
I'll assess your child's current EF skills and work with you to identify priority areas. We'll create a treatment plan that targets the skills that will make the biggest difference in their daily life.

Step 3: Start Building Skills
We'll meet regularly (typically weekly) to work on EF skills through hands-on activities, games, visual supports, and real-life practice. You'll get strategies to support their progress at home, and we'll adjust as they grow.

  • Families who want to build foundational skills that support independence

The Foundation for Everything Else

Executive function skills aren't just about school—they're about life.

Strong EF skills help children:

  • Feel capable and confident instead of constantly struggling

  • Become more independent (which they desperately want)

  • Reduce daily battles with parents over homework and routines

  • Build friendships (EF skills affect social interactions too)

  • Prepare for increased demands as they get older

  • Develop self-advocacy skills

  • Succeed in school without constant support

Without EF support:

  • Frustration increases as demands grow

  • The gap between your child and their peers widens

  • Dependence on adults continues when independence should be growing

  • Self-esteem suffers from repeated experiences of failure

  • School becomes increasingly difficult

  • Family stress and conflict escalate

The earlier we build these skills, the stronger the foundation for everything that comes next.

Real Progress Looks Like This

Imagine your child:

  • Starting their homework without a 45-minute battle

  • Following their morning routine with minimal reminders

  • Breaking down a big project into steps without melting down

  • Remembering what they need for school without you packing their bag

  • Transitioning between activities without resistance

  • Staying focused on tasks long enough to finish them

  • Adapting when plans change without falling apart

  • Feeling confident because they know how to get things done

That's what we're working toward together. These skills don't just help with school—they build the foundation for independence, self-confidence, and success in every area of life.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Executive function is like your brain's "management system"—the skills that help you plan, organize, remember, start tasks, stay focused, and adapt. When these skills are strong, everything gets easier. When they're weak, even simple tasks feel overwhelming. EF skills include: planning & organization, task initiation, working memory, time management, flexible thinking, and self-monitoring.

  • I can work with all clients, however, if you want your EF Coaching sessions to be eligible for insurance reimbursement I recommend you work with one of my colleagues who can offer billing. My services are eligible for OAP.

  • Therapy focuses on emotions, relationships, and processing experiences. EF coaching focuses specifically on building the cognitive skills that help you plan, organize, and execute tasks. We use hands-on activities, visual supports, and real-life practice to build these skills step by step.

  • Tutoring teaches academic content (math, reading, etc.). EF coaching teaches the underlying skills that make learning possible—like breaking assignments into steps, managing time, organizing materials, and staying focused. We don't work on math problems; we work on the skills that help them approach math problems effectively.

  • I typically work with children and young adults ages 8-26, though this can vary based on the child's developmental level and needs. EF coaching works best when children are developmentally ready to learn these skills—I'll assess fit during our assessment.

  • It varies by client and goals. Our program is designed to be 12 weeks - but some clients need more/less support. Executive function develops over time. We review progress regularly and adjust the plan.

  • Sessions are active and hands-on. We might work on creating a visual schedule, practice breaking down a multi-step task, use timers to build time awareness, play games that require planning ahead, or work on organizing school materials. I teach strategies through doing, not just talking. I also assign "homework"—practicing strategies in real life between sessions.

  • This is common, especially if they've had negative experiences with adults trying to "fix" them. I focus on building relationship first and making sessions feel like play, not work. I also help children understand why these skills matter—connecting EF skills to things they care about (like gaming, sports, friendships). Most kids don't realize we're working on EF; they just think we're doing fun activities together.
