Sometimes we recommend starting with individual therapy before moving to couples work, or you might do both simultaneously. James can help you determine the best approach for your situation.


  • It's common for one partner to be more hesitant. James offers a free 20-minute consultation where both partners can ask questions and see if it feels like a good fit, no commitment required. Sometimes just understanding what couples therapy actually involves helps reduce anxiety about starting.

  • You don't need to be in crisis to benefit from couples therapy. In fact, coming to therapy before problems become severe often leads to better outcomes. If you're feeling disconnected, arguing more frequently, or struggling to communicate effectively, couples therapy can help.

  • The first session is about understanding your story, current challenges, and goals. James creates a safe space for you to share what's brought you to therapy. There's no pressure to have everything figured out, the first session is about connection and exploration.
