Quality Therapy that Fits your Budget

Does therapy feel expensive? You’re not imagining it. As a student, a parent on parental leave, a professional making a career shift, or someone who is just trying to make ends meet, getting quality therapy can feel out of reach.

You deserve support. Your budget shouldn’t decide whether you get it.

That’s why we created our Affordable Therapy Program

How Affordable Counselling Works

You'll work with a student therapist who provides the same evidence-based care as our senior clinicians, but at a fraction of the cost. These aren't beginners fumbling through sessions. They're graduate-level therapists completing their clinical training under the direct supervision of our most experienced practitioners. We’re picky about the students we choose, because you deserve the best support, no matter how much or little you can afford to pay.

Your sessions cost between $5-$140 (sliding scale based on what you can afford)

Every student therapist at InnerWorks brings:

  • Graduate-level education in social work, psychotherapy, or counselling psychology

  • Ongoing supervision from licensed senior clinicians

  • Fresh training in current, evidence-based therapeutic approaches

  • Genuine care and commitment to your progress

What You Can Expect

Your student therapist will help you work through issues like:

  • Anxiety and stress management

  • Pregnancy & Postpartum struggles

  • Depression and low mood

  • Relationship challenges

  • Life transitions and adjustment difficulties

  • Self-esteem and confidence concerns

  • Family conflict

  • Grief and loss

Sessions follow the same structure as our regular counselling services: 50 minutes, weekly or bi-weekly, using proven therapeutic techniques tailored to your specific needs.

Why Choose Affordable Counselling at InnerWorks?

You get more than a cheaper session. You get:

  • Quality supervision: Every student therapist receives weekly clinical oversight from our senior team, meaning your care is reviewed and guided by experts with years of experience

  • Collaborative care: Your therapist can consult with specialists on our team if your situation requires specific expertise

  • Measurement-based approach: We track your progress using clinical tools, so you can see the impact therapy is having

  • Family-centered practice: If helpful, your therapist can coordinate with other family members receiving services at InnerWorks

Most importantly, you get to start working on what matters now—instead of waiting until you can afford it.

Who This Program Is Right For

Our affordable counselling program works best if you:

  • Are committed to 8-12 sessions of meaningful change

  • Are willing to work with a therapist still completing their training

  • Have flexibility with scheduling (student therapists sometimes have limited availability)

  • Are dealing with common mental health concerns rather than complex trauma or crisis situations
