Meet Alison

Alison Bekendam, MSW, RSW, is a registered social worker and psychotherapist who provides compassionate support to adults navigating anxiety, depression, grief, relationship challenges, and burnout. She also offers care for those experiencing life transitions, including pregnancy, postpartum, and parenting.

Alison’s approach is trauma-informed, collaborative, and rooted in curiosity and respect. She draws from Internal Family Systems (IFS), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to help clients deepen self-understanding, develop effective coping strategies, and foster lasting growth.

Before becoming a psychotherapist, Alison worked as a registered midwife for five years, supporting individuals and families through profound life transitions. She brings that same grounding, calm presence, and belief in people’s resilience to her therapy practice today.

Outside of work, Alison enjoys exploring local trails with her husband and two children and spending quiet moments creating textile art.

You don’t have to face life’s challenges alone. Alison offers a safe and non-judgmental space to explore, heal, and move toward greater balance and wellbeing.
