What is Therapeutic Coaching?
Therapeutic coaching provides community-based mental health support for children, youth, and young adults. Over the past several years, many young people have experienced gaps in life skills, social skills, and community engagement. InnerWorks Counselling is pleased to offer one-on-one therapeutic coaching with skilled coaches who help individuals develop these essential skills.
Therapeutic coaching is eligible for funding through the Ontario Autism Program (OAP), Passport funding, SSAH, and other financial assistance programs. Therapeutic Coaching is covered by most insurance plans.
Who is therapeutic coaching for
Therapeutic coaching is designed for youth and young adults (ages 12–25) who need support in building essential life skills, gaining mentorship, and developing independence—whether at home or in the community.
Our coaching services benefit both neurodiverse and typical clients, offering personalized support tailored to their individual strengths, challenges, and goals.
What to Expect from Therapeutic Coaching
Once matched with a therapeutic coach, you will have an initial phone call with our Program Coordinator to identify preliminary goals and needs. This information helps us match clients with the right coach, and an initial session will be scheduled.
Session Structure & Fees:
All therapeutic coaching sessions are a minimum of 3 hours.
The rate for sessions in London, Ontario, is $180 for the 3 hours session, with additional hours at $60 per hour.

Normal transportation is included in the rate. Extensive travel (e.g., out-of-town trips) is subject to additional charges.
Clients are responsible for any session-related expenses, but our coaches are skilled at working within any budget, including a zero-budget option. Clients/families must discuss expenses with their coach and reimburse them immediately after the session.
Supervision & Treatment Plan:
A monthly fee of $125 covers clinical supervision and the development of an individualized treatment plan.
Session Frequency:
Most clients participate in weekly coaching sessions.
Some opt for more frequent sessions, while others prefer bi-weekly coaching.
Personalized Treatment Planning
At InnerWorks, we understand that every individual has unique goals and abilities, which is why we create customized treatment plans tailored to each client’s needs.
Collaborative Approach: The treatment plan is developed by a therapist, in collaboration with the therapeutic coach and program coordinator.
Goal-Oriented Strategy: It outlines client and family goals along with strategies to achieve them.
Flexible & Evolving: The treatment plan is a fluid document that adapts as the client’s needs evolve.
Review & Accessibility: Clients and parents (when appropriate) will receive the initial treatment plan within six weeks of starting coaching.

Each client benefits from a multidisciplinary team that includes:

✅ A Supervising Therapist ensuring clinical oversight
✅ A Program Coordinator facilitating goal alignment and progress tracking
The InnerWorks team meets regularly to ensure that clients receive the collective expertise of multiple clinicians, fostering growth, independence, and success in their journey.

Our therapeutic coaches are experienced Child and Youth Counsellors, Social Workers, Counsellors, and other highly skilled specialists. Our coaches receive support, supervision, and professional development.

Safety & Professional Standards
All therapeutic coaches carry liability insurance and have insurance coverage for transporting clients.
All coaches have undergone police background checks.
Coaches are supervised by InnerWorks therapists (MSWs, RPs) to ensure high-quality support and ethical standards.
